The following requirements will have to be complied with by the applicant companies to facilitate their entry into Foreign Owners Representatives and Ship Managers Association as an Associate Member.
  1. Person, Company, Institution, Agency or other organisation of good reputation and having interest and subject matter expertise in the maritime sector, and who can, in the reasonable opinion of the Board, contribute to the overall objective and interests of FOSMA, and their expertise is considered beneficial to the members of FOSMA / Maritime Industry in general, but are, in the reasonable opinion of the Board, not eligible to become General Members, may apply to be Associate Members of FOSMA. These may include but not be limited to, activities relating to Medical Examination of Seafarers, Maritime Health and Well-being related matters, Maritime Education and Training, or any other sector which in the opinion of Board adds value for its efforts in furthering the objects of organization in support of its members.
  2. The application must be supported by a Proposer and a Seconder from FOSMA Member Companies (General Membership).
  3. Award of Associate Membership is at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors and is conditional to the applicant agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of membership of FOSMA.
  4. The Associate Members may observe, propose, make comments and give inputs on all matters pertaining to the Association in areas of their subject expertise / category defined at the time of their acceptance as an Associate member. Associate Membership shall not have any right to vote in any matter. Any proposal being put up by an Associate Member should preferably be co-sponsored / supported by at least one of the General Members and be approved by the Board.
  5. The Entrance fee for Associate Membership shall be as determined by the Board and duly approved by the General Body from time to time. The current entrance fee will be Rs. 25,000/- plus GST. The entrance fee is non-refundable.
  6. The annual subscription for Associate Membership is determined by the Board and duly approved by the General Body shall be payable by each member. The current annual subscription will be Rs. 75,000/- plus GST. Call letters would be sent out and payment must be made by the member within a 30 days of receipt of the said call letter.
  7. Documentation / credentials which would establish a sound background of the principals to the satisfaction of the Board of Directors of FOSMA will be required to be submitted along with the application for membership. Such documents will include, but not be limited to:

    • a. Certificate of Incorporation of the Company
    • b. Professional certification of the individual
  8. The Board of Directors of FOSMA reserves the right to suspend/cancel membership of any Associate member without assigning any reason, if, in the opinion of the Board, it is considered necessary to uphold the Association’s values & reputation.
